West Indian American Day Parade

Jamaica Culture
When it come to having fun and celebrating, someone does it better than Jamaican's. Each year Jamaicans from the Tri-state area, New Jersey, New York and Connecticut find their way to Eastern Parkway in Brooklyn to parade and showoff their costumes.

It's a photographer's paradise to see bright costumes and sparsely covered body parts. Each year most of the Caribbean islands show up in full force to celebrate the end of the summer. Over a 100 hundred islands are represented each year.

There is no shortage of food. You name it and it can be found at the parade. You say, you want Curry goat, ackee and saltfish? Go to the parade, you'll find that and much more.

Let me know if you've ever been to the WIA parade. What did you think?
