Accompong

High in the mountains of St. Elizabeth in western Jamaica stands Accompong, the site of one of the fiercest battles in Jamaica's history. This nation within a nation borders the western parishes of St. James and Trelawny. Accompong, otherwise known as the Cockpit country was and is still the home of one of Jamaica's first inhabitants, the Maroons.
